Charlie Sheen`s new show `Anger Management` will debut on June 28
Despite no shooting having yet taken place on the series - which is loosely based on the 2003 film featuring Jack Nicholson - the FX channel has confirmed two episodes will be screened back-to-back in the summer. The series will begin filming on March 22, and last month FX President John Landgraf admitted he was "sceptical" about the project when he first heard about it and knew the troubled star was involved but was won over with the pitch.
He said: "I walked into the pitch as sceptical as you might imagine I would be. It was just a really excellent pitch. I saw a really good pitch for a comedy series. I believe in redemption. I`m all for giving him the opportunity for turning things around."
The show will begin airing the same night as Russell Brand`s new talk show `Strangely Uplifting`.
`Anger Management` will be Charlie`s first TV series since he was axed from `Two and a Half Men`, and recently he called for it to be shelved even though his replacement Ashton Kutcher was doing the best job he could.
He said: "I don`t think it should go on past this year. I just think that people are there because there`s nowhere else to go. Yet.
"Hats off to Ashton for doing the best job that he can. I don`t think that he`s working with the best writing because [Lorre is] doing too many shows. He and [Jon Cryer] and [Angus T. Jones] deserve better material."
